Hello Bloggy Family,
Well it is that time of year again and I am planning my Thanksgiving Dinner. Things like…
Do I have all my ingredients?
What time are we going to eat?
When should I put the turkey in?
The menu:
Turkey - We have had the best results with Butterball, so we have been sticking with them the past few years; tender and juicy (couldn’t be my cooking). Speaking of Butterball, they have a pretty neat Turkey Calculator. You can plug in the number of guest to estimate the size of turkey you need and you can plug in the size of your turkey to see how long it needs to thaw and/or how long it needs to cook.
PS there is a $2.00 coupon on the bottom left corner.
Homemade Mashed Potatoes and Gravy – I boil all the innards with carrots, celery & onion to make my broth for later use in making my gravy. I also put onion, carrots and celery in the turkey and on the bottom of the pan. Makes for some tasty drippings & gravy.
Stuffing - I use Stove Top, I love that stuff. The last time I tried homemade it was teetering near soup, never again. I am a Stove Top Gal.
Green Bean Casserole – I love this stuff, but I am the only one who eats it, this won’t be on the menu this year. Besides, I made some for my hubby’s luncheon so I got my fix.
Candies Yams – Yams, butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and marsh mellows that’s Rich Baby!!!
Corn - Some yummy yellow corn with butter, simple but nice.
Rolls - I consulted with @BakingMistaking and we think I’ll be ok making a few batches of dough ahead of time (thanksgiving day) via my bread machine. Its a french baguette recipe that I usually make into rolls, they are crispy and pull apart nicely.
The one thing I look forward to? When my kids say grace and what they are thankful for.

Yum, can I have Thanksgiving dinner at your house?
I love that your favorite part is when your kids say grace and what they are thankful for. I look forward to when my son is old enough to participate in Thanksgiving. Your kids look like such sweet children in your sidebar pic. I hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
By the way, your comment on my post about my dog Cosmo really meant a lot!
Hello everyone, it is Thanksgiving Day! I’m enjoying my extra day off, and I am planning to doing something fun that will probably involve a car trip and seeing something new in Melrose Park I haven’t seen yet.
