Today it was my daughter’s turn to bring a snack to school. So we decided to make little sugar cookies and frost them. I didn’t want to make a big mess in the sink with a bunch of dirty bowls and spoons, so we made a frosting pallet instead.
We had the following on hand: Duncan Hines Whipped, Food Coloring and a plastic platter that I just love.

We dolloped small amounts of frosting on our pallet.

Then we added the color:

I blended the colors in with a toothpick:

Now she is ready to work. She just used a little butter knife to frost her cookies. Had we been more elaborate, we would have used zip locks.

Clean up was super easy, wish I had thought of this simple thing a long time ago. I would show you pictures of the finished cookies, but like the big goof ball that I am, I completely forgot to take pictures.
Her cookies were a big hit.
Well it is time for our 2nd play-off game. We are playing the Carson Senators. This should be a very good and intense game. Carson has an awesome record and is always a tuff team to play.
I may not have a voice when this is over, sorry if I embarrass you honey, but I will be yelling!!!
Good Luck Baby!
This is him just after the Douglas game. I was trying to catch the steam coming off his head, it didn’t work though. Oh well, good pic anyway.
Kiddos after game.
Yes, it was freezing that night. It was also my oldest’s birthday..
I would post one of his team pics, but the league is holding their pictures ransom until equipment is turned in.
Let me start by saying I LOVE MY CHILDREN and I would NOT trade my life for anything, but there are some things I miss…
Ok lets just say it. I miss SLEEP. No it isn’t over rated I need it, I crave it like I crave my coffee and if you know me at all you KNOW I love my coffee. There are days I walk into my room and I could swear my bed is calling me.
Oh I do sleep… some… I make the bed, warm it up, cuddle with my hubby and than….
Ballerina: Mommy, I can’t sleep.
Me: Ok baby, lay back down. (I tuck her in.)
I lay back in bed, get cozy…
Baby: Waaaaaaaaaaaa
Me: check her toosh, give a fresh drink and cuddle. As I lay her down,
Baby: Waaaaaaaaa
Me: Cuddling with baby and sleeping on the recliner
My Bed: “Come back to me, I need you….“
You know what else I miss? Talking in
complete sentences! My hubby and I have to wait till the kids are in bed to get a decent conversation in. By than we are zombies remembering we had a lot to say, but now we just can’t squeeze it all in or we are just to tired to spit it out.
You know what else I miss? I miss cruising with my hubby sipping my iced diet soda and talking about anything and everything. We try that now, but we get:
Oldest: Where are we going?
Us: We are just cruising.
Oldest: Are we going home?
Us: No not yet, just enjoy the trip. Look around see things.
Ballerina: Mommy, I gotta pee!
Oldest: Mom, I am hungry, can we snack.
Oh I know, in about 18 years when the last baby is in college, I will be missing the times I got up in middle of the night, struggling to get my words out and interruptions in the car. Awww to be Mommy!
