Relish your menu and grocery planning?

Written on November 16th, 2009 by MommaYoung4 shouts

As I sit here making my menu for the following two weeks and progress to the shopping list that goes with it, I think “gee wouldn’t it be great if this was already on the computer ready to print.”

Oh wait, someone has done that already. The folks at Relish!

  • There are various recipes to choose from each week like freezer meals, vegetarian menus, super-quick and slow cooker recipes. You can even enter your own recipes.
  • After you’ve chosen your meals for the week, print the grocery list customized to your weekly menu.  On average 5 meals will cost about $85.
  • Each meal is tested and takes under 30 minutes to cook.

There are some delicious recipes to choose from like:

Almond Crusted Chicken Fingers

Slow Cooker Country Style Ribs

MMmm, I could keep going, but it’s making me hungry.

The grocery list is simple and easy to use.  It has…

Organize your shopping

Another way to saving money and to be organized:

Create a Menu…
I created a two week menu of the meals my family will eat and add the ingredients it will require.

Here is an example:

Spaghetti – Hamburger, Spaghetti Noodles, Spaghetti Sauce, Potatoes, Garlic Bread

Stew – Hamburger, potatoes, carrots, celery, corn, green beans.

Tamale pie – hamburger, taco seasoning, corn, tomato sauce.

Well you get the idea. I usually plan 11 meals, 2 leftover nights and one fast food night out.

Check all your ingredients with your pantry. You might already have what you need.

Next…

Create a shopping list
My list is organized by the layout of the store. That way I almost never miss something on the list. I will also highlight the items I have coupons for.
